Looking for an application that can record audio and possibly edit it similar to Audacity for OS/2 or ArcaOS. Not finding much.

Not many applications have been developed for OS/2 in the past. I had mixed success with those:
- CERES SoundStudio - the only application I know capable of graphic audio editing - to some extent. Only handles MMPM/2 recognized files (or were they only WAV files? Can't remember well).
- PlayRec - command line driven pair of applications. Always worked flawlessly, no editing.
- Dunno if ffmpeg is able to work with audio input in OS/2. You might give it a try, though.
Other may be available, so good luck.

You can use your webcam microphone to record an audio stream or look for other tools on author page.
https://home.hccnet.nl/w.m.brul/webcam10/index.html
AVxCAT with webcam10 is able to record your webcam (or stream on the network (limited function)).
Then, you can use it to cut/extract parts of the recorded file or if video file (any audio file can to xfert into video), you can create a diaporama like ouput but using selected time range from videos
you can output a pic of the waveform
ffmpeg -i input -filter_complex "showwavespic=s=640x240:split_channels=1" -frames:v 1 output.png
Why not set the pic length to the audio length size in seconds or 10th of seconds !
e.g. audio length 10 minutes -> 600 (1 pix = 1 s) or 6000 (1 pix = 0.1s)
But, you can send ffmpeg output into gnuplot which may provide a better and more like audacity view.

Audacity has a lot of functions and plugins you will not find under OS/2 or ArcaOS

Hello
I also used "Digital Tape Recorder (https://www.os2world.com/wiki/index.php/Digital_Tape_Recorder)" for basic USB mic audio recording.
My notes were: "When using DTAPE for recording you need to set the correct Record Type before you open a new file. You have to do this only once anytime that you plug in a different USB audio device. For this device I used PCM, 44100 Hz and 48000 Hz, 16 bits, Mono, Line in. "
FYI: Here is the Audio Utilities list that I have in the wiki (https://www.os2world.com/wiki/index.php/Category:Audio_Utilities).

Hello,
I have two Java programs which do something with recording;
Program LAoE https://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6e137.htm (https://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6e137.htm) and
program FScape https://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6e146.htm (https://joopn.home.xs4all.nl/os2ecs/ecs6e146.htm).
Both programs run with the Java version available for OS/2-eCS-ArcaOS
That said, if you want to do something serious with sound, buy a dedicated Windows computer because all software related stuff is Windows optimized, even Apple is sometimes not supported (in the same way). Also Linux is something in the area of OS/2-etc, but once running you can choose between more programs.
