VBox Guest AddOns 7.2.6
« on: February 13, 2026, 12:33:15 am »
Hello

I updated VirtualBox host (Windows) to version 7.2.6 and updated the extension pack. No issue here, ArcaOS 5.1.1 BIOS keeps booting fine.

But on the guest ArcaOS 5.1.1 I also updated the addons to version 7.2.6.

Now I'm experiencing some issues:
1) The SharedFolder drive is not auto mounting. If I run "vboxcontrol sharedfolder use d: OS2TEMP" (in my case) it will mount.

2)  The worst issue is that the bidirectional Clipboard sharing is no longer working.

Do you suggest something else I may be missing on the configuration?

If someone confirm the same issue here, I will open a ticket.

Using windows7, I had to back on virtualbox to the latest where all works:  7.0.22r165102 (taken from virtualbox archive - older build)
(I know, now win11 only is supported  ;D )

Martin,

I can confirm those 2 issues you mention happen here too. Gotta go back to 7.2.4.

Hello

On April 21 2026, the 7.2.8 was released and I just notice it. The VMs are working fine on the Win11 host.

The Addons were updated and I think they two issues from 7.2.6 are now solved.
- The bidirectional clipboard is working back
- The auto mount drive is also working back.

Let me know if someone wants to try it and report back.

Hi Martin,

I had tried 7.2.8 when it came out, but I had the same problem as with 7.2.6. Used the workaround mentioned in the ticket you created on github - that is add the '-f' switch to vboxservice.exe (vboxservice.exe -f). Just looked at that ticket again and there is a discussion about the problem and now a real fix has been made that may be in the next version hopefully.

On my Windows 11 desktop, I upgraded from 7.2.0 to 7.2.8, but then some of my virtual machines would not open due to a VHD error.
I reverted to 7.2.0 and the same virtual machines open OK.

Hello

VirtualBox 7.2.10 was just released. I will check it out and install the AddOns to see if there is any change.

Hello

I tried VirtualBox 7.2.10 has a host (Windows) and ArcaOS 5.1.2 and looks to be working fine.
The VirtualBox Addons 7.2.10 are also working fine on the ArcOS Guest.

It looks safe to me, but it will be good to have feedback from people trying it.

Earlier I reported a problem reading VHD files for 7.2.8. This persists for 7.2.10. But I realized I had only one VHD file left. I reverted to 7.2.0, created a blank VDI with 2 TB of space and xcopied my files from the VHD to the VDI.

I installed additions 10 of my OS/2 virtual machines, Warp 4, Warp 4 with Subscription, MCP, eCS 2.2 b2, ArcaOS 5.0.7, ArcaOS 5.1.0, 5.1.1. All work OK. I'm using a Windows 11 host system. All virtual machines have a mix of applications installed.

Hi

The VirtualBox Additions 7.2.12 had been released with the latest VirtualBox.
I will be checking those.

The changelog does not says much about 7.2.12, but it has some OS/2 related changes for 7.2.10.

The sizes of the files are the same from 7.2.10, it booted and fine and seems to be running fine.
