The above is contrary to the usual requirement for most systems where it seems to be necessary to load the USB2 Controller before any other USB Controllers/Drivers.

It makes me suspect an ACPI related problem on your system but... well, if it works...  :-)


You may also want to check your USB configuration using USBcfg http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/os2/system/usbcfgb7a.zip - the Help and Removable Drives FAQ may be of interest. Be aware that if you change any of the USB settings USBcfg will automatically change the USB2 (USBEHCD.SYS) line to be above all other USB drivers. You could always edit the config.sys file and change that *Before* rebooting though.
