Title: How to setup a file server???
Post by: sXwamp on 2007.10.19, 01:34:48
I have an old G4 Mac with a broken screen.  Is it possible to set it up as a file server for my divx movies and maybe use it for a SeaMonkey roaming profile?  Does anyone use a roaming profile with SeaMonkey and what is your experience with it?

Well, I guess that this system is a PowerPC based so you wouldn't be able to install OS2 on it; but there are other OS available and I would suggest PowerPC version of Linux Debian (http://www.debian.org/) and to make it really easy; make use of the network (http://www.debian.org/distrib/netinst#smallcd) installation instead of downloading full set of CD/DVDs.

There is also the FreeNAS (http://www.freenas.org/) project which I haven't tried out; but plan to do so when time are given.
