Title: eCS on X24 installation problem...
Post by: xchris on 2011.09.28, 18:08:08
Hi,

I am trying to install the eCS 2.1 on a ThinkPad X24, I was running so far OS/2 warp 4
on a second partition without any problem...
So I installed the eCS 2.1, but the system hangs after loading the "vmanwin.sys" .

Any ideas/help?

Thank you

Chris

Hi

Can you check it is "vmanwin.sys" the one driver that does not allow you to boot?

You can done an Alt+F4 on booting (after the ecs logo appears) and go step by step and ignore "vmanwin.sys" to see if it hangs there.

I hope it helps.

Hi,

Thank you for the help.

I decided to re-install the eCS without PCMCIA support and now works ok....
Could it be this?

Now I don't have PCMCIA support, in fact I was looking to install a USB2 cardbus card,
but I doubt if its supported under eCS.

Alternative, can I use any of the listed driver for T21/22/23 so the X24 can use the PCMCIA?

thx
