Will the universal audio driver work with the audio chipset in/on the Thinkpad 755CD?

A quick search tells me that a 755CD uses MWave DSP for audio (and probably the modem as well). Looking at the UNIAUD site, I can see that this isn't mentioned. Also, looking at the ALSA site (that UNIAUD is based on), it isn't supported there either. So, UNIAUD doesn't currently support it, and I doubt if it ever will.

But, IBM does have drivers for this on their site. There's a link to it from the old Notebook/2 site.

Thanks for the information. I had been looking for what chipset(s) it was but had not found it. I will check out the old notebook/2 site (perhaps they moved some of the information to the new notebook/2 site?).

I don't think it's been moved to the new site yet, or at least I couldn't find it. But, for Thinkpads, the best site is IBMs site. If you follow the support links you will find every you need to know about your Thinkpad, and all the drivers available.
