Ok gang...my problem is!!! A few sites I go to use a java script thru the browser..."firefox"1.0.4 after logining in, and opening the chat windows...say there are four windows open for this application,, the longer I remain online the slower the response is and eventually the browser becomes unstable and even freezes the desktop so I need to reboot the system.. I am using the latest version of java from innotek. Two. I am able to to use the (clt-alt-del) to reboot the desktop. after getting into that program, and reseting the wps...and exiting the program, the browser area is blacked out, as is most of the desktop and the mouse is not working, thus need to 3 finger salute my computer... any help three on booting...I get to the last and it is looking for a wireless signal... for 55sec....how can I make that a zero... I knew it was in the last install box...but can't find out how to change the time out setting for it.. Best Dave |

Hi Trident! Trident (27 Dec, 2005 18:0 : Ok gang...my problem is!!! I don't understand here... are these sites using a script written in "javascript", or are they using java applets? Despite the confusing name, "javascript" has nothing to do with java. You say you're opening "chat" windows... are you using Chatzilla? You should describe your problem better... Two. I am able to to use the (clt-alt-del) to reboot the desktop. after getting into that program, and reseting the wps...and exiting the program, the browser area is blacked out, as is most of the desktop and the mouse is not working, thus need to 3 finger salute my computer... any help
Why are you resetting the desktop? If I correctly understand you're having problems with mozilla firefox, so you should be killing firefox, not the desktop. After C-A-D, bring up the list of processes and kill (with the hard kill option) firefox. three on booting...I get to the last and it is looking for a wireless signal... for 55sec....how can I make that a zero... I don't have a wireless network, so can't help here, sorry. Bye Cris |

Hi Chris.. I'll try to be more precise in my explenations. 1. the site I am going to uses javascript. as a chat window.. (not firefoxes chatzilla)..if I have java turned off, the windows will not open....and I get a message that java is needed... One firefox is opened, and 2 java aplets open, one of which is a IRC style chat... After anywere from 1 hour to many hours the names list might disappear, or cannot pvt chat with them...if I pull the window to another place on the desktop, it leave a shadow.. It has been said that it might be a video problem.. hope that clears what I am saying..if not, just let it drop...I know how hard it is to communicate about computer problems... Best2. I need to use the (CAD) to reboot the screen, as it now becomes frozen...the mouse does not work, drop down menu does not work but after using (CAD) and exiting the program...the desktop is mostly black and I need to reboot the system....This to has been mentioned as a video problem...I'm using the snap driver. 2. |

Hi Trident. Thankyou for your explanations. The chat window is Java then, not javascript. Unfortunately, I don't know what to suggest... I think GoldenCode Java could do a better job, but it is not free. Regarding point 2, I'd say that you need NOT restart the desktop, otherwise you'll get those black shadows you're experiencing. Try to kill Firefox instead, and any copy of java you may have running. Use the "hard kill" option. That should solve the problem without rebooting.Hope this helps... Bye Cris |
