|

Hi Chris, there is a little bug installing WPSWizard 0.5.1 on eCS 1.2: the Drives folder does not show the bars indicating the free drive space. I suspect its a problem in the order of class replacement, but would like to hear from you.Thankyou!! Bye Cris |

I have this problem, but don't have WPSWizard installed at the moment. I do have XWP installed instead of eWPS. I also failed to install eStyler lite to my regret. I don't think this is a WPSWizard problem unless you can uninstall it and the drives start showing the bars. |

| I have the drive bars (I assume you mean the bars that are red up to the % of the drive that is filled) WPSwizard 0.5.1 on eCS 1.2 MR. Net Drive seems to confuse it. It shows 2 network drives as empty (they aren't) but it does show a vfat drive as 50% full (neat trick since it is an empty floppy drive). Otherwise it appears fine. |

DavidG, I think you didn't understand the question. The drive bars are a feature of WPSWizard, so you reply is somewhat confusing. How can you have the problem if you don't have WPSWizard installed? And how could the bars start showing if you uninstall WPSWizard?Gregg, thankyou for your reply. I have seen the problem on eCS 1.2 and eCS 1.2MR, both with eWPS and XWP. I have an eCS 1.1 installation where the bars are showing. Did you have to do something to enable the bars on your eCS 1.2MR? Do you have eWPS or XWP? Thankyou! Bye Cris |

I installed with eWP and now have XWP; based on the directory dates WPWizard was installed after XWP. I have one of the options turned off in WPWizard the very bottom one on the setup page (sorry I am booted to 1.1 right now which doesn't have WPWizard installed so I can be sure what option it is). I didn't do anything that I remember specifically to get the bars working. Gregg |

Hi Cris
Yes, I misunderstood you. I now have WPSWizard 5.1 back on my computer and am looking forward to using your calender. As for the drive folder drive icons, the drive bars are working. I have eCS 1.25 installed and am running XWP also. David |

| Hi Chris I just got a new machine and installed 1.2 MR on it. I now have the problem with the missing bars. I am afaird that a WPS class related to this has been broken. The latest wpconfig.dll broke the mouse class and I can't get it to work with XWP or Amouse. I wonder if the drives class was redone. I now remember that my other 1.2MR install was actually one of the betas so the classes in it aparently weren't broken. I don't know much about the classes so have not idea if this is the problem. I know the mouse class was broken because of a tread in the xworkplace newsgroup and the fact that it doesn't work on my new install. In messing with the mouse object I encountered another issue with wpwizard, the install failed (wouldn't populate it folder) until after I installed xworkplace. Gregg |

Hi Gregg!! Thankyou for your reply, I was starting to feel really alone I have read the thread about the mouse object... but that should be a problem only for the "comet cursor" page, shouldn't it? I have the mouse object working perfectly, with AMouse installed. I don't have the "comet cursor" page, but I really don't have use for that.Regarding the drive bars... I don't know what to say. I think only Chris Wohlgemuth could help with this problem... I think he has eCS 1.2 (at least) since his MM classes are included in the product, but the problem may appear only with the MR. I suspect that's why DavidG is not having problems. I may try to experiment with the order of replacing of the WPDrives class. Bye Cris |

Cris I did not install the media refresh. When I tried, it failed to install every time. Thus, I installed eCS 1.2 and then used the eCS Maintenance tool to install all the driver updates and fixpacks. It appears that something changed in ECS 1.2 MR that broke something. If updates are installed to the origiinally released eCS 1.2 and then fixpacks applied, apparently this problem does not show up. David |

Hi tex, thankyou for your reply. I noticed that eCS 1.2MR has a bug in the replacement of the WPDrives class (or was it a problem with my own installation?). If you look at the class hierarchy, you'll find that the WPDrives class in superceded by the WPDrive2 class... but the WPDrive2 class is not registered!! I registered it, but unfortunately it didn't cure the problem with WPSWizard If there is somebody reading this who still has the plain eCS 1.2... could you please look at your class replacements and tell me if you have WPDrives replaced by WPDrive2?Thankyou! Hi Cris I finally found time to check. I have no WPDrive2 drive class, thus the WPDrives class is not replaced by it. I checked using Classman. I also checked my 1.1 installation and it has no WPDrive2. Both have XWP and WPS wizard 1.5 installed. David |

DavidG, thankyou for taking the time to verify. So this could be the reason that the drive bars don't show on eCS 1.2MR. Now we can only hope that Chris is listening... Oh, BTW... I think WPDrive2 is the class that makes it possible to call something other than LVM from the drive folder's context menu (in 1.2MR it calls MiniLVM). Thankyou!! Bye Cris |

| Chris I just reinstalled 1.2 MR on my new machine. I install ecsmt and updated all the drivers, installed fixpack 5 and updated to 14.104a kernel level. I then installed amouse (with usual mouse object problems) and then installed xworkplace over eworkplace (used the xwp class object to create the mouse (amouse) object). I just installed wpwizard and the drive bars are present. I also noticed that the comet curser page is missing from the mouse object. It had been present in the earlier install. I reinstalled because I was having strange problems (firefox extensions would not install; innotec font engine didn't seem to work etc) |

Hi Cris WPdrives2 is an OS/2 WPS replacement WPDrives class to override the function of the "Manage Volumes..." menu option, so it can run something other than "java lvmgui". It is written by Paul Ratcliffe. Not having installed eCS 1.2 MR, I downloaded the class from Paul's home page and installed. The install has an install and remove. Looking at the WPS list found in XWP, the WPDrive2 class should be a subclass of the WPDrives class. I suggest you go to Pauls web site http://home.clara.net/orac/os2.htm#wpdrive2 and download the program and use it to uninstall and reinstall the class. It looks like you need to report this bug to eCS bug tracker so this problem can be corrected. David |

DavidG, thankyou for your reply. I would open a ticket on the eCS bug tracker if the bug was confirmed, but the last message from Gregg leaves me wondering.Gregg, since you have XWP installed could you please use the WPS Class list and report about the WPDrive2 hierarchy in your installation? Thankyou! Bye Cris |
