| Hello all, Complete newbie here trying to get a Warp4 running on my old machine. Install went fine (after f1+alt setting to vga), boots fine from partition magic's boot magic and I got my netgear fa311 nic working last nite with a NAS driver that I think I picked up from a link off of this site. My next step is to get the os on the latest (free) fixpack. I have downloaded #15 as well as CSF 1.44. Before I go down to compusa and get the bucket 'o' 3.5 diskettes, I wanted to see if there was a way to install the fixpack without the 20 or so 3.5 disks? Also, I got my copy off of ebay and it contained everything except for the original device driver disc. Seems that everyting that was on this disc is available on the ibm website. Should I be concerned about NOT having this disc? Many thanks! ~Von |

| IIRC - there is software at http://hobbes.nmsu.edu that allows one to install the fixpak from a hard drive. I don't know if it will make a difference if one does not have the install disk (there are similar programs at http://hobbes.nmsu.edu that do the same thing). BMTMicro has the fixpak on cd-rom if one wanted to try it that way (no floppies required). http://www.bmtmicro.com BigWarpGuy - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - OS/2 Warp-ed to the very end. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - |
