What is actually the current status of Papyrus Office? Reason for asking is that they used hell of lot time to translate it and then there was the thing about a proper demo version? Is it worth trying? Does it handle documents from M$ Office and Smartsuit?
Well, you ask the "right" person. >:-|
ROM Logicware announced version 9 "to be released soon" about April or May I think. Nothing happened yet. If you order version 8.x now, you'll get a free update to version 9 though.
It's definitely worth trying: fast, needs extremely few resources and is quite reliable. According to ROM Logicware they wanted to improve import filters for Mickeysoft, too. Don't know about Lotus.
An English demo of version 8.23 is available at http://www.rom-logicware.com/e_demos.htm.
The problem is that you often can't count on what Mr. Ramps says, unfortunately. (Just ask the Warpstock teams, both USA and Europe.) So I'm waiting for the new version to be available before I decide to spend my money on it.
I just had a look at their (German) web site and it has been updated on August 2. They state that they have a beta version running quite well and that the GA is about to be released soon.
