I would simply make the hard disk you which to copy the master, then make the disk you want to "copy to" the slave. Then boot
up (or boot from floppys) - create the partition on the slave drive,
format it - then xcopy (using the /h/o/t/s/e/r/v switches) the
data to the destination. It's all good from there...

What version of Ghost are you using, I haven't tried out the latest, but will. But I've been using Ghost also for lvm partition and even if Ghost didn't really like them there was no problem to Ghost the partitions and Ghost them back again.

... with DFSee !!!

This has worked perfectly already !!

BTW: Your present HDD is set by jumpers to be MASTER ...
... you have to change your (new) Slave 2 Master and ...
... your old Master 2 SLAVE !

Check the website guides and manuals of your HDD manufacturer ...
... or consult your system administrator !

I'm using a single, small and efficient program to do my server backup. You must create the partitions in the secondary harddisk and use a program called DSYNC to copy data from first to second. It will copy everything and everything (even locked things). No need for floppy/CD boot.
Here I have two 40GB harddisks. They were partitioned and formated equaly and as if only one of them would be used (that is: both of them has partitions C:, D:, E: F: and G:). Then I plugged the main harddisk as master (drive letters assigned as C: D: E: F; and G:) and the secondary (backup) harddisk as slave. OS/2 (4.5 and above) will automatically reassing the partitions of the slave harddisk as H: I: J: K: and L:.
I configured DSYNC to make regular copies of C: to H:, D: to I:, E: to J:, F: to K: and G: to L:. This way, if my Master harddisk suddenly dies, I can just disable it and the system will boot from the backup harddisk as if nothing happened. Also, if data is corrupted in the master disk, I can boot the secondary (they both are shown in Boot Manager, since both has BootManagers installed and their boot partitions are added to the respective boot managers!) and make the same process I use to backup Master to Slave to restore Slave to Master.
Plain simple and everything you need is for free.
OF COURSE you can do the same using only one HardDisk (using partitions), but this would not be "that" safe.

Well, after Ghosting back the partition you might need to set it startable again using fdisk or lvm. Speaking of lvm are the volumes lvm volumes? If yes, you might need to re-create the volumes again after that the system would be bootable again.
