I've got a fairly extensive website with WebSphere. I'd like to add server side includes to the website.

If I include with file, everything works, but if I include with virtual, the web server crashes with access violation.

<!--#include file="main_nav.html"--> works, but
<!--#include virtual="main_nav.html"--> crashes.

Does anyone recall how Lotus needs to be set up for this?

What version of Domino Go? And what exactly are you trying to do? SSIs in HTML files only?

Also, the documentation should have come with the server in the DOCS directory... and there should e an INF file as well.

Let me know some more info and I will see if I can help...

It's Release 4.6.1 for OS/2 Warp (4.6.1.8 with no patches)

I'm trying to include a set of navigation code into each web page.

I can see all the docs you mention, and I believe I've followed everything. I can print out the server environment variables, and it all looks correct until I actually use the virtual keyword, after which the server crashes with access violation.

If I stay with the file keyword instead, then the SSI functions as expected.

The docs say that the web server will crash if there is a circular reference, but I'm pretty sure there isn't one in my code.

I think I ran into a similar problem and ended up using the file statement as well... either that or a rexx script which did my includes and processed nested includes as well as cgi calls that were in the includes....

Have you tried a test page with just the virtual statement?
