| Hi, Francesc. > I wanna know if there is any news about the "eCS future" discussion sessions that took place at warpstock this weekend.< The news is that things are looking pretty good. IBM has pushed back its original cutoff date for support for OS/2 by at least two years (12/2006), and perhaps farther out than that. Bob St. John was his usual "IBM doesn't matter anymore" self, and reminded everyone that we have current driver support for OS/2 and eCS, and that as emerging hardware technologies demand, we will have drivers available (driven by the market, obviously). >Any commnet about the new VM technologies is also welcome.< Yes, we got to see twoOStwo (on Linux), and had a discussion about what's to come on the OS/2 host platform (OS/2 is already supported as a guest on Linux). Again, when the issue of a possible "buyout offer" for NetSys came up, Bob St. John was very clear that their agreement with NetSys will protect their investment in the twoOStwo product for OS/2. This, of course, was quite reassuring. The product is very young in its development cycle, so much of the feature set of VPC is yet to be implemented (on any platform), but it will be coming. A new app for OS/2 as always great news. Warpstock was FABULOUS this year!!!!!!!!! Lewis -------------------------- Lewis G Rosenthal, CNA Rosenthal & Rosenthal |
