zizban (31 Dec, 2006 03:23): usbmsd.add--what is this? I can't see anything in the USBconfig app.
Hi zizban Look on the page called Mass Storage. This will set the options you select for usbmsd.add (usb mass storage driver). Regards Pete |

Hi zizban Silly question time: Did you reboot to activate changes? If Yes:- 1] Plug in the device - You are not booting with this already attached are you? 2] Run USBcfg. 3] Check that there is not any unwanted USB CD/DVD drives on the Optical Page. If you make any changes here Reboot, remove Device first, and then restart from 1]. 4] Click the Run button on the Resource Manager page. 5] Is the device reported? If the device is not reported it could be that you have an earlier USB Resource Manager installed. What version does USBcfg report on Page 2 of I/O? Regards Pete |

| I decided to backtrack and do a clean install. I took the time to look at the docs on the download page of the USB drivers on eComstation and discovered that I made a very basic mistake. Apparently os2ldr.exe needs to be invoked with the -d switch. I just double clicked the icon and didn't see the install would fail without the -d switch. I have just run LDRINST.EXE and rebooted. More details soon. |

| No I am not booting with the flash drive plugged in. The USB Resource Manager says USB Driver Not Found! I had seen this error before but didn't think of it. USBcfg reports my Res Mgr as 0.9.6 yet the app itself says 0.9.7 |

Hi zizban
There are several bits to the Res Mgr application. I think you need to check that you have a line similar to this in your config.sys file:- DEVICE=H:\ECS\BOOT\USBRESMG.SYS USBcfg reports the bldlevel of that file not the usbres.exe file. Regards

| You know, when I clean reinstalled eCom I had no problems but once I used USBcfg I started getting an error about usbrsmgr in config.sys on reboot "line invalid, ignored". I finally had to comment it out to get it to stop. It was like USBresmgr was either being moved or USBconfig didn't know where to look. |

Hi zizban
I would be surprised if USBcfg is causing the problem and cannot reproduce it here but feel free to email me with Before and After versions of the config.sys file and I will have a look into that. Regards Pete |

last updated at 01 Jan, 2007 22:22 (1 times) I was running a live Linux CD on this beast just to see what the recent release of Mandrivalooked like when I got the same USB problems. Some searching through forums fingered the problem as the way the 6 in Card card reader that is built in interfaces with the mobo. I unplugged the card reader the the rest of the USB ports started working.Thank you all for your time and patience helping me! |
