1. Newer UniAud driver?

I found that http://os2.kiev.ua has newer universal audio driver than http://www.ecomstation.com . I downloaded both and found that http://os2.kiev.ua has 2004 as the year of their driver while 2002 is the date of the driver at http://www.ecomstation.com . Aren't they suppose to have the newest/latest drivers for eCS?

The ones on the eCS site are the official release drivers available to SWC subscribers. The ones on os2kiev are a product of the Open Source nature of the ALSA project the drivers were ported from. The Developer of Warpvision has continued the development. While I don't know if these drivers will be in the forthcoming eCS 1.2, they may be. They would not be on the website as the only drivers available there are either drivers only available to eCS users (ntfs, dta, etc) or IBM drivers (USB, uniaud, udf, etc).

... are you talking ?

The exact version should be mentioned ...
... to make an efficient assistance or guidance !

One does not know if you talk about 1.07 or 1.08 or 1.09

The most accurate I know is: 1.09 !!!

I am not sure what version the official build is. 1.04 I think but am not sure.
1.07 was the first to work correctly with my card and I am currently using 1.11 which is available on ftp.os2.kiev.ua in the test directory.

5. UniAud driver not working- no sound?
Reply to this topic with quote Modify your message
I had remmed out the Crystal lines in config.sys to get the Innotek RunTime to install. It worked and I also installed SDK from Innotek. Now the sound does not work unless one considers an occasional 'blurp' working. Any help would be appreciated.

Remming out the sound drivers in config.sys is only a temporary solution. Have a look in the readme for the Innotek Runtime for how to handle Crystal sound drivers with it.

Also, if you want to use UNIAUD drivers with this (and I don't know if you can as I don't know what soundcard/chip you are using and if UNIAUD supports it), you need to uninstall the current drivers, and then install the new driver. If you simply remove the existing drivers from the config.sys and install a new sound driver, you WILL have problems. The uninstall does more than just modify the config.sys.

I used the UniAud drivers from the Netlabs site (used the ftp link I found/was given at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ecs-technical ) and it works. I have sound (no more 'blurp' every so often but the sounds that are suppose to be heard).

BigWarpGuy (27 Jul, 2004 02:44):
ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/pub
site of the newer uniaud drivers.

I have tried several versions of the "public" uniaud drivers, including the
most recent from the above mentioned URL While the latest are much
better than past versions, and I applaud the efforts...they do not deliver
the sound quality of the latest IBM version. My card is an SB Live! - and I
think I prefer the actual SB Live! .81 drivers from Sander...quality-wise.

What experiences have other had??

I can confirm that.

I get best sound quality with my SBLive! with the 1.0.4 version of the uniaud series.

The latest testbuild is usable for system sound but not for more. unfortunately. Sound quality is awful, and if I play music via pm123 and a system sound is played pm123 continues to play on silently...

Is there a forum for uniaud somewhere?
