Conceivably, with enough work, any kernel could be used to build a replacement to OS/2. Practically speaking, any successor to OS/2 should (IMO) be oriented not around a kernel but a desktop environment that is easily ported to any kernel, for the simple reason that it would be too hard to get all interested developers, investors, and users to agree on the best kernel. If done this way, K42 should be as good as any other.Anyone know what a cache-coherent multiprocessor is?
