1. 'Front End' or 'GUI' for VCDGear?

I have tried VCDGear (vcdgear15_os2.exe from http://www.vcdgear.com ). I surprised how easy it was to use. I used it to comvert some mpeg files (from http://www.cree.ch ) to .dat files (onto a mini-cdr disc). I have yet to try to watch them on the mini-cdr. Is there a 'front end' or graphical user interface that one can use with it? Would it be difficult to create one that would work with it? in REXX? PMREXX?

I asked if there will be an updated VCDGear for OS/2 at the forum at http://www.vcdgear.com . The reply was if some one compiled it in OS/2 for him since they don't have it to do so.

PS They also said someone else would have to create a 'front end' or 'gui' for the program. I guess this could be a project for someone to do (hint hint). :-0

"Only if there is someone who is willing to compile it for the OS/2 system. Same with a front end... since I do not use OS/2 myself, someone else must be willing to make an OS/2 front end.

Dracore "

From the VCDGear messag board.

I was sent a vxrexx front end to vcdgear for OS/2. If one wants a copy, I can ask the person who sent it if I can share/copy/upload it to others (or even to http://hobbes.nmsu.edu ?).

I have tried attaching the file (a .zip file - I unzipped it and rezipped and it still comes up as a invalid file format). I tried PKzip and Win zip ("Your attachment was invalid, ther file format was incorrect, the file format is ." - both result with this error).

PS I tried the program but it comes up with an error about not finding a certain file/program (I don't remember the error but I will try it again to see the error to copy it for here).

I will try within the staff area.

My home computer crashed a day ago but I had the files on another computer so I can still try to upload them (the crash was due to a corrupted driver but it is okay now ).

I am adjusting my CDR/RW Wizard package to let you use both vcdgear and vcdimager to manipulate mpeg files.
