At one time, Earthlink (isp) had iformation on their site ( http://www.earthlink.com - IIRC on the URL) about how to connect to their isp service using the 'dial other provider' that came with the internet access kit from IBM/OS/2 Warp. Do they still have it? I have been searching their site (a little) but no success (yet?). Do they still 'support' OS/2?

I quit using DOIP many years ago, so I can't tell you about how it works. What I can report is that had no problem making InJoy work with EarthLink on a machine I set up for a friend. I don't recall any mention of OS/2 in Earthlink's support pages, but it wasn't too hard to glean the necessary information.

I signed up for Earthlink via the CIS software in the Bonus Pak that was included with OS/2 Warp ver 4 by IBM. I was surprised that it worked. Some of the software that is part of the CIS does not seem to work but that was to be expected since it is a few years old. I was able to connect to CompuServe via the CIS software. Some of the features seem to bring up a window on upgrading but I am not able to do so (plus there does not seem to be any upgrades for OS/2 - at least I dont think there were). I have sent e-mail to them and their various groups (tech help, online help, billing [anyone I was able to acqure an e-mail address for - sent out just recently and waiting for a reply]).

I have been using the dial other providers client on one machine for a quite a while now without any trouble. I was able to find a page with the correct nameserver information on the earthlink support area but it took a bit of digging. You may look under the linux setup areas? I also use Injoy on another machine without trouble. The only trouble I have had lately with the connection is with line dropouts. Increasing the S10 timeout to 255 (ignore drops) seems to have fixed it.

Yes, I am using Earthlink, I originally had Netcom, now Earthlink. I attached an old Html page that I saved from Netcom days. Shows how to configure the Orgininal OS/2 Dialer (SLIPPM.EXE). I am currently using INJOY. See if the attachment helps..

IIRC - I think I saw something like it at http://hobbes.nmsu.edu (I was searching for something else at the time).

I have yet to receive a response from Earthlink about supporting OS/2. I will try again (state the inquiry differently [ie; 'Is it possible to access/use Earthlink while using OS/2-eCS?' type of question.]).
