| I bought a D-Link USB (PCI) adapter. It said it was UHCI compatible. I downloaded and installed the OS/2 USB driers for UHCI chipset found at http://www.os2world.com/os2usb (they had a date in 1998). The drivers will not load. Is this because the card might be loose and the software does not see it? Is it because the driver date is too old? Is it because the card is too new? I have a main board with OHCI chipset USB. I have enabled and disabled the onboard USB and it does not seem to make a difference with the drivers recognizing the PCI USB card.

| Well, according to what is know only UHCI chipset should work with the lastest USB drivers (04/06/2001). No idea why your new card isn't working. Are you getting an error message ? What are you using to test it ? I highly recomend you to get an USB mouse to test it ( and get the mouse drivers) Do you have any other way to test the card? maybe pluging it to a machine with other OS. Martin |

| Martin, do you have a clue about how much was actually updated with the ACP and MCP? The readme files actually doesn't say that much, well says that USB printers among other is updated. But, is the entire USB core updated as well? //Kim |

| I have the same identical card (bought from the same store)in a Windows computer (my Dad bought a usb printer but his pc did not have a usb port). The os that is on his computer is Win95 with USB support. We installed the D-Link USB PCI card and Windows recognized it (the problem that he had Win95 and the printer only had Win98 drivers). I don't think it was the card. I downloaded the usb printer driver for OS/2. It said that it had the basic usb driver for OS/2 included (I don't know how recent those drivers are).

| CMD; 0670B-400; 0019; KAI6; T002; TAIWAN; MCO-4050A; 48MHZ; EWN0120; D-LINK; DSB-500; REV B1; MADE IN TAIWAN; This is the information from the USB PCI card that I is made by D-Link. There is nothing on the card that indicated Intel or VIA. Will it still work with the 'free' USB OS/2 drivers? Will it work with the newer USB OS/2 drivers (the ones that only seem available via Software Choice)? |

I have been told at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/os2hardware that this chipset is OHCI. It is ironic that it (the booklet that came with the card) said that it was UHCI compatible. I will have to be more carefull on the next card (make sure it has either the VIA or the Intel chipset). I have also been told that the USB drivers for OS/2 and OHCI will be coming in the next month or so. I will either wait for the updated USB drivers for OS/2 or get a card with VIA or Intel chipset (or do both ).

| Kim, According to one guy at IBM that I talked to the MCP and ACP has the lastest USB Basic Drivers available until today. And its strange because the USB Basic Driver at Driver Catalog is released as 04/06/2001, and MCP and ACP was before that. Martin |

| I went to http://www.ecomstation.com and downloaded USB drivers from the drivers section of the site. The date implied they were recent but once expanded were sometime last year (08-2000 or earlier). Is this the most recent USB drivers for OS/2 (or eCS?)?
