| I'm usually rather slow when it comes to read the included readme files to commercial software. So when reading the readme file that came along with pmFax it mention a couple of different native scanner software for OS2. So I now wonder if the software is still available or if it's dead, if so would there be any reason to contact the vendors to be able to pick and rescue the code? I know that TAME/SANE is available, but it was just a thought. Here is a what the pmFax readme file says (at least within version 3.0 that I use): SCANNER SUPPORT Native OS/2 scanner support software is available from several vendors, and most of the scanner packages can easily be used to scan and fax documents with our fax software. Information on using some of the OS/2 scanner packages with the fax software: CopyShop/2 (Version 2.0) ImageScan/2 Applause (Version 1.1) Galleria (Version 2.2) UniteLite (Version 1.2) |

| You might want to check out sites like http://www.netlabs.org , http://hobbes.nmsu.edu , http://www.os2bbs.com and other Warp archive sites to see how current those and other scanner software is. I know some are still being developed.
OS/2 Warp-ed to the very end. |

| Applause (TWAIN) is under development for ECS-Application-Pack (no USB). There is a hook into PMView for TWAIN. CFM 5.2 was the last version we´ve seen 2 or 3 Years ago, also Twain. Tame is under heavy development close to version 1.0, its based on SANE (with USB for EPSON so far). In the last year we had a bunch of new scanner-driver for IMPOS/2 (no USB), developed from Compart the Author of IMPOS/2. This is a proprietary solution and only usable in IMPOS/2 but you can controll it through REXX, very good. Achim |
