I keep hearing about the beta of SDD/2 and how it is being in 'beta' mode. I have bought it and found it to be an excellent video driver program. Will there be a 'final' version that can be called 'ver 1.0'? I know there will be upgrades after its released (with new hardware and software coming out all the time making such upgrades necessary) but will there be a 'version 1.0' or will it always be 'beta'?

I've once a while tried out the SDD drivers and everytime I've had some sort of problem. I'm current running with Matrox G400 card and when using SDD I have some graphics problem such as bad icons in pmMail and there are other application that won't work right, among other couple of nice screen savers I tried out.

Do You have the same problem or does it work 101% on Your side? What graphic card are you using with your system?

I'm actually registered user of SDD now. The thing was that I had problem with ACP2 and the original Matrox drivers, they wouldn't install correctly and I got tired of having to install the drivers by hand. My old problem with SDD has also been solved; problem was that some icons within applications looked a bit washed out. For example pmMail had that problem. But solved now by adding a command in the config.sys.

I never really had a problem with SDD/2. I have a main board with SiS video chipset builtin/on it. I have had other video pci cards that worked with it.

I am glad your problems have been solved. Have you tried the SNAP for OS/2?

No not yet, I read a few lines about and decied to wait a while. But, can't really see any reason so far to upgrade or try it out. I try to live by the simple rule: Never fix something that works

With some software, it is better to 'wait and see' if there is any bugs with it. I am still using SDD/2 for OS/2 and have not upgraded to SNAP yet (perhaps one day in the future). What I have still works quite well.

I actually upgraded to SNAP last week, main reason was that I bought myself a Matrox G550 dualhead for the video output and as bonus as I see to use the dual head feature as well. Since I don't play any games at all I never actually looked into the competitors. I've used Matrox boards for so many years and never had any problem and always a great picture when working.
