Hi,

From an OS/2 prompt in the correct directory, you can change the attributes using the "ATTRIB" command.

attrib -r -s -h config.x

would remove read only, system and hidden attributes (for example).

OS/2 (IIRC) will reset the attributes on reboot though.

What for ;-(

"config.x" is a result of the command line order: ARCINST !!!

You may mess up your system with manipulating system files from the wrong side

Good luck

Perhaps he meant 'config.sys'? Is this not where one adds the usb device lines?

Not if the OP want USB support when booting to a command line from the "Alt+F1" recovery menu. This is, when CONFIG.X is used and especially in case an installation was moved to different hardware it may make good sense to update CONFIG.X manually.
