I'm looking into get a ThinkPad X40 to be used as an extra system when on the move. But, I've notice that there have been some negative press regarding the screen or has this been fixed? Or would the ThinkPad X31 be a better buy?

Any particular reason for wanting an X-series? The T is very good (I'm using a T20 here with eCS1.2, fast enough for me:) ) and the OS/2 support is almost faultless. Stuart

Well, I need an extra laptop that is as small as it gets and the X40 is 1.2kg but also looked at the X31 that is a bit bigger and is around 1.7gb.

Hi Kim! I've got the X31 because I wasn't able to get the X40 when I was in the US in December (all sold out - 3-4 weeks delivery time; was only 10 days in the NY). *** Java Movie Database - http://www.jmdb.de ***

Well, then it's gonna be a X40 - I also noticed that PCWorld listed the X40 on the top list over ultra portable laptops.
