Like GNU C++ or something? I would like to do GUI Applications in C++ (if its possible) or Java (if i have no choice!)

Does i need to buy a Visual software for doing that?

thanks !

have a nice day!

It makes it easier to port unix programs to OS/2? Does this include Linux programs?

I've not actually tried it myself. It's been successfully used to port PERL.

Hi

You may be interested to know that the Borland JBuilder X Foundation development package works on OS/2 based systems with java141 or later installed.

The Foundation package is free from http://www.borland.com/products/downloads/download_jbuilder.html
but has to be installed on a Windows system as it is in a Windows self installing executable - once installed it works fine with eCS and java142.

So, if you have to use java at least there is a fairly modern development package that works.

Regards

Pete

Could one install it using ODIN and OS/2-eCS?

ODIN builds will soon be at http://www.netlabs.org soon (according to what I have read at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/odinusers group). IIRC - the url is http://odin.netlabs.org (?).
