I have tried both Seamonkey 1.1.1 and 1.0.8. 1. Bookmarks do not work 2. No back for forward buttons 3. mpg will not load into a new window Firefox 2.0 has these issues Also, I have multible installs of either Firefox and or Seamonkey.. |

| I installed the latest SeaMonkey but could not get it to start. I had to go back a couple of versions before it would start. At least you got it running.

I suspect that as you have multiple installs you may have problems with the wrong Firefox/Seamonkey *.dll files being used unless you are using Run! or you start whichever Mozilla product by using a cmd file to set any necessary paths and libpaths. Your comment "Add-on I installed in Seamonkey 1.1.1 The bookmarks problem may be a Profile problem. You need to check that Profile data is being loaded from the correct location. See the Tips for Warpzilla page for a bit of info about multiple installations and how to overcome problems http://www.os2bbs.com/os2news/Warpzilla.html The alternative is to ditch all the unwanted versions of Firefox and Seamonkey and just have the 1 browser package installed - no problems with configuration issues then I use the PW "enhanced" Seamonkey1.1.1+ as it is a bit more "WPS friendly" than the standard version and is also able to use high memory which means that it is possible to run OpenOffice/2 at the same time without any resources issues here. You may want to have a look http://pmw-warpzilla.sourceforge.net/ Note on the above Tips webpage the suggestion to use MediaPlayerConnectivity instead of Warpvision plugin - or any of the usual OS/2 multmedia plugins. I suggest you follow the advice if you want to have a resonable chance of playing online video clips - just setup MPC to use Warpvision as the player. Hope the above is of some use Pete |

One of the extensions that I had installed caused this problem with SeaMonkey. Try either using a new profile, or renaming the "extensions" directory in your default profile. If the front and back buttons work, then it probably is an extension. I don't remember which one caused this problem, perhaps Mnenhy, but I know it went away when I updated it. Andrew |

| Hey Pete, your probably correct about going with one browser, And I'll uninstall all of them and just install Seamonkey. I use to be able to run mpeg, and mpg in a window, now i'm not, but then that could be do to the extensions. Maybe you can answer why the system and browser become unstable after many hours of use freezing the desktop, and have to reboot... anyway, thanks for the info... Best |

| I've also found that the bookmarks don't work in Seamonkey 1.1.1. Double click or press Enter, nothing happens. Seamonkey loads pages faster than Firefox 2.0.0.3 and prior 2.0x versions. It also doesn't require clearing the cache to get navigation with keypad and spacebar working again after they stop working on some sites (doesn't happen in SM.) Which extensions can be used with SM? |

Looks like the voice article probably covers the reasons. However, there is an enhanced Seamonkey build that may help. Amongst the enhancements is the ability to make use of high memory which should release lower memory areas for other apps that do not have this ability. If interested in trying that build instead of the "official" build Seamonkey1.1.1+ can be found here http://pmw-warpzilla.sourceforge.net/ Regards Pete |

| I tried the 'gecko' version and am using it. It works pretty good.

It is... Both! I might have this a tad wrong but I think Gecko is the underlying framework of all the Mozilla based applications so Seamonkey, Firefox, Thunderbird are all "gecko". In your instance you downloaded the Seamonkey1.1.1+ installer version which is based on the Gecko 1.8.1.2+ code. As I use that version myself I think you have made a wise choice Pete |
