Can this printer work with OS/2-eCS? Are there drivers for it? (I tried looking at http://www.dell.com but it seems to require a id and password to ask about OS/2-eCS drivers). Are there drivers for OS/2-eCS that will work with it?

I am looking forward to when color laser printers become more affordable (I have seen one for $300).

Dell's printer site states it's a windows host based GDI printer..

Seems like one of those old win-printer varients.

I am pretty sure it does not have a native driver..

If you're considering a laser, I would suggest that you should look into the HP 1320 that will cost the double but you will get an excellent printer that support dublex among other.

When we talk printers for OS/2: I have HP 1200 and it works with OS/2 perfectly.
