1. Need OS/2 Installer files |
|
|
| Hi, I want to install Embellish on my system, but as is well known, this package lacks two files of the IBM OS/2 installer. These used to be available from a Netscape installation, but as I don't want to put Netscape on my system, I'm trying to find another way to get these files. Anyway wants to send them to me? Thanks,

last updated at 21 Feb, 2004 14:16 (1 times) Hi Luc, try going to this url: http://www.os2site.com/sw/graphics/editors/index.htmlThe name of the file is embo202a.zip. The description claims it has the required Netscape dll but I have not tried it since I already have embellish installed. kind regards, arr |

Thanks but this files seems to be a time limited demo of the product. It installs fine though, but I'd rather have the full version operational.

EPFIEXTS.DLL and some other file. Netscape has an install subdirectory. Could you possibly zip it up and send it to me? Thanks!

| Huh, interesting - what gives you the indication it is a time-limited demo? There was nothing in the descripton about it being a time-limited demo. Actually you don't have to install netscape - just download netscape and use netscapes' installer from the command line to install it - when you are done just trash the netscape download - that is what I did. Or can't you use the installer from that embellish download to install the other one? kind regards, arr |

| I finally did what you suggested and installed Netscape from my eCS CD and then deleted it again as soon as I got Embellish installed. The version of Embellish I downloaded had "demo" in the titlebar, and a "demo" bitmap as a window background. Maybe I concluded too soon it is time limited.

| Glad to see you got it installed - nice program I think!!! Actually I finally took a peek inside the zip file at the enclosed readme file and it does say it is a time-limited demo so I guess it should be avoided. Although someone should take the installer files out of it and bundle them with the full version - don't see why that couldn't work. kind regards, arr |
