| What would today be the best bay when it comes to buying a DVD-ROM (IDE-based) for PC? Earlier I know that many talked nice about the Plextor driver and still are when it comes to CDR-units. But, what is the current status today since it was a looooong while ago since I bought any kind of CD-ROM. I've looked at some AOpen and Sony; but I want to make sure that there are proper firmware upgrade to make them region free. Suggestion from anyone that recently bought one? /Kim |

| I can't answer your question, as the time I was after a DVD drive, it was for a laptop. But, if you have a look at http://forum.rpc1.org/portal.php you will find details of all the firmware upgrades available.
