Good day to all of you;

Has anyone managed to get OS/2 working with the Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller drivers? I have a Dell Latitude D505 laptop with this chipset and cannot find a good video driver for it. The SciTech Display Doctor driver does not recognize it and the generic gradd drivers do not allow me to use more than 256 colours at resolutions higher than 640x480. Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm.. guess that you're out of luck with this chipset, there is no drivers available for OS2. I guess that you also have check Intels download area and there is nothing there.

Suggest that you submit suggestion to SciTech about trying to add generic support for the chipset.

Problem for SciTech is that they often lacks hardware to test on and I doubt that most of us enjoys to send them the laptop to give them a opportunity to have hardware to test on

I think it's possible to patch i830/i845 driver from Intel to support i852/855.
i855 very close to i830 with 2D operations.

I know this is an older topic, but I was looking to install OS/2 on my D505 and checked the updated SciTech drivers:

The i852/855 GM/GME are now included in the supported list...
