Subject  :  Antivirus Programm for OS/2?

Hi
I need a virusscanner for my OS/2 System. I have tried the Sophos Antivirus but this is very expensiv. I have also read that mcafee don't support OS/2.
Is there any other software, or can I buy older versions of mcafee that run under OS/2?

Sorry for the bad english.

Symantec still updates the signature files for Norton AV for OS/2, but the only way to get that product (in the modern day) is to get the corporate version. Panda AV (www.pandasoftware.com) still updates
signature files for their OS/2 AV software - I just e-mailed them to
request info about their OS/2 version, and I was advised that it is
still for sale. Norman AV for OS/2 is still in active development, as well.

Well, the currently best updated AV for OS2 might be Norman AV; more info to be found at following url:

Network Associates (McAfee) VirusScan data file updates no longer support their OS/2 engine. The last update that worked was v4366 created Jun 14 2004. So unfortunately, VirusScan is useless to you.

Good luck,

Sophos has allready stops developement of OS/2 Warp.
See <http://www.sophos.com/support/timeline.html>

DrWeb v4.32b is the up to date latest version. DrWeb has just an CLI for the /2 scanner and no GUI. like for the other OSS...

From IBM/Nortton/Symantec AV, FProt, Panda and McAfee are only the virus-signatures updates available. There has been for several years no update for the programm itself.

For my own I'm a great fan of the Norman Virus Control.
This programm is up to date and which a nice GUI with a lot of possibilities and the virus signatures are updated as much as needed.. Automatic Internet updates works very nice...

Allso works the Norman Virus Control OS/2-key allso for the Win-version,
so with dual booting you are allso "safed" with the Win-version...

They have allso a version that will allow you to install the programm for all the computers on your home-address...

Last year I renewed my three year subscription again for something like
69 EUR...

Allso it's not like you buy a 2004-version and will need to buy a new 2005 version. You will get the versions that are in these years...

With kind regards,
