Question to thoose of you that have any kind of DVD HD Recorders at home - have you guys ever tried to exchange the disk? It seems that the most units on the market, when speaking of Panasonic, Pioneer, etc that the firmware is looked to format a new disk to a pre-defined partition size. So for example if one has the Panasonic E85 unit with a 80gb disk and exchange that to a 160gb the unit will still setup and format a 80gb partition. So here is the trick that there is no answer to yet;what if one pre-partition and pre-formats the disk in a PC how would it work out? Analyzing the disk is easy enought to figure out how to format the disk.

Suggestion, ideas or thoughts about above topic anybody?

Well, I'm aware of google and belive me I've looked around and as well there are couple of threads at http://www.avforums.com open. Problem is that lots of the AV people isn't that interested of playing around with hardware in combination with PC.... so that's why I ask to see if there is anyone here that have any kind of experience regarding this topic.
