1. CompuServe and OS/2-eCS?

I have been sending e-mails to CompuServe about upgrading their CompuServe Information Manager for OS/2 (the one that came with the Bonus Pak that was included with OS/2 Warp ver 4 by IBM). They said they would forward the request to the programming section of CompuServe (not necessarily indicating that they would but they did not say that they would not). I am waiting for a response (I was given four contact e-mails from AOL for CS and I sent an e-mail to each of them). It might be that since I joined CompuServe (using CIS which I was surprised to see it actually work since it is a few years old) that is the reason they responded.

CompuServe had - at one time - supported OS/2 and they still - IIRC - have forums for OS/2.

I hvae been told that they (CompuServe) goes with the 'marketshare' and that they only support Windows. I dropped their service for that reason (I had a trial membership and will check my credit card account to make sure they don't charge me anyway). It is a shame since they use to support OS/2. I have heard that they are dropping OS/2 related forums. It is a shame they don't support more operating systems (would it have been that difficult?).

I used to use Compuserve because it came with the Bonus Pack all those years ago. Rather clunky and old then. Maybe I should have pestered them but they were expensive for what they were and I cancelled my subscription and the deductions stopped straight away! I used to like the monthly magazine too! If you live in England like me no one's heard of Compuserve these days - it's all AOL! Being in Compuserve was a bit of a Status Symbol all those years ago but are the forums worth joining for - whatever CIM looks like? These forums are heaps better than the Compuserve ones were. If not many Warpers are using them they can't be much better. It's a chicken and egg thing? If Compuserve just made the effort to provide a real A.S.A.D. front end for Warpers - or even a Linux one - then they might increase their market share with the anti Windoze alliance. Maybe...
