But reading from the official site, it might be so that it's rather usefull:
FFmpeg is a complete solution to record, convert and stream audio and video. It includes libavcodec, the leading audio/video codec library. FFmpeg is developped under Linux, but it can compiled under most OSes, including Windows.
But, then again you need some developent experience to figure it out I guess. But, since WarpVision uses ffmpeg one could always hope for a side project from it.
