| Hello all. My goal: mount a folder dhared on an NT system as a drive on a OS/2 System I've got TCP/IP working start logon <NT-land-username> /P:<password> /D:<NT-Domain> I'm a unix guy, and am trying to come up to speed on OS/2 I'm able to logon to the NT domain, however I cannot mount the share. If I type 'net use' it tells me I'm not logged in and then presents a login box for 'local'. I wasn't aware there was a local password. I didn't install the OS.
Thank you in advanced |

| Try the following for the username and password, depending on how they did the install these are the standard local values: userid: USERID If I got that wrong, hopefully someone else can correct it. As to the rest of your problem I am not sure what to suggest. Shadallark Shadallark running eCS v1.03 on an IBM Aptiva learning to program for OS/2 and eCS! | Here is a link from a guy that can log on to an NT domain from his OS/2 machine. According to him (his article) it is very simple. http://www.haynes97.freeserve.co.uk/os2tont.html So maybe I am wrong. Please post your results. I am interested in knowing how it works out. |

| Thank you for the advice! I was able to log on to the local machine. So that's a step farther ![]() So I believe I'm logged in to both the NT doman and the local machine.\ However I still get an error on 'net use' here it is [c:\]net use N: \\FSPLY04\data\ I believe I'm using the correct syntax as listed in the last line, must be the standard output when things aren't right. I did find another good resource online: I think I'm not actually logged into the NT Domain... Is there a way to verify that from the OS/2 machine? The logon says it completed successfully, but the 'net use' doesn't work, neither does the 'net view' that command give me this error: |

| You should use NetBios or NetBios over TCP/IP on all the machines, i.e. install it both on OS/2 and NT or 2k machines and configure it properly. OS/2 Requester uses it as a transport protocol. You shall find everything you need here: http://www.mit.edu/activities/os2/peer/WARPPEER.HTM and perhaps here: http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/os2/util/network/survivin.zip |

| Your message above implies you are typing NET USE N: \\SRVNAME\SHARENAME\ That's wrong - you need to remove the last \ i.e. NET USE N: \\SRVNAME\SHARENAME hth Colin. |
