| I love using a thumbdrive! I know eCS works great with my 2 gig version but now I am getting low on space and need to upgrade. I know most thumb drives 2 gigs and under use FAT so I am wondering if anyone here has used anything larger then 2 gigs and had it work. It's important that any operating system can read from it since I use openoffice and Pixel for alot of my work, and since they are cross platform it's very easy. |

| I've run an 80 GB USB drive with FAT32, but I limited the partitions to 32GB each, so that an older version of Windows could still read/write it. I set it up on an eCS system, but the Mac had no trouble with it, either.

| So FAT32 is good...isn't FAT32 now installed with eCS 2.0 or do I have to manually install that file system? |

If your goal is to have read/write capability across multiple OS's, than FAT32 is an excellent choice. Installation is a "no brainer". Just use the Warpin (.WPI) installation. ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/pub/fat32/f32_0911.wpi Documentation is also excellent, and if you have further questions, there is help available on the Yahoo news group, FAT32USER. |

I will give it a try with some USB drives (512 meg) that my computer had trouble seeing drives with since they were formated in fat32. Thanks for the software.
