What kind of hardware requirements are minimum for oo.org?Would I be able to get much use of it on my daughter's old Toshiba laptop with an AMD K6-2 333 and 128Meg of RAM?
I downloaded and installed the Beta on my IBM Aptiva 450 MHz machine with 300 MB of RAM and it ran so wonderfully SLOW that I could make toast while waiting for the program to open... then I finally managed to type a short hello world type of sentence on the blank page... one slow character at a time.... finally when I tried to print (which worked by the way) it took almost fifteen minutes to print the one single sentence. Therefore, I would recommend a computer with MUCH more power than my 450 MHz machine... looks like I will be upgrading soon.

My machine is a PII-300MHz laptop with 256MB RAM. Stuff is slow to open and slow to load, but once loaded, it runs okay.
So it's no speed demon, what with beta code and all, but it is useable speed (except certain operations, such as copying of charts).
For a beta, not bad. It's certainly A LOT better than running anything under VirtualPC on the same machine.
