The price for version 5 of Virtual PC for OS/2 has been cut by more than half the original price at the Connectix web site.

Does anybody know if it means that Connectix's daddy, Mr. Gate$, will be exterminating our commercial option and thus continue forcing us to abandon our our free will to use our operating system to join the M$ collective?

Or does it simply mean that there will be a new OS/2 release soon?

I think that the reason is detailed here : http://www.innotek.de/products/virtualpc/virtualpcgeneral_e.html

There seems that Microsoft will release a new version at the end of 2003, and now the version 5 is not sold anymore

I have bought VirtualPC for OS/2 recently. I wanted a "box version" and I got VirtualPC BOTH for winblows AND for OS/2. The version for OS/2 was 4.0 but I also got a registration code for ver. 5.1. The virtual PC for OS/2 ver. 5.1 needed to be downloaded from Innotek along with OS/2 add ons. Therefore, I have ended with Virtual PC both for OS/2 and for winblows. The Virtual PC for OS/2 was, in fact, a small piece of paper in the whole shipment.
If you haven't ordered the "box version" then it is possible that your Virtual PC for OS/2 consists only of a similar small piece of paper with a registration code and web addresses where to download your Virtual PC. Otherwise, down with Innotek! (

Note: My reseller is www.blue-point.cz, a Czech firm specialized in OS/2.
