Hi
I've use to have black100 utils found on hobbes. it's quite good utility, but there were some changes and I really liked doodle ss There is only one thing that I'm missing now, if I know I'll be away I can't turn off monitor, I just have to go and it will be working for thouse 10 minutes even if I know that I would be back later :/ Is this a problem to add extra icon that will turn off monitor?
Second thing - I would like to have turned on monitor only when I hit some key, that's computer with many fans, so they are wibrating and sometimes monitor is turning on even when I'm away, for sure it's harder to hit some key I would be glad to have thouse encachements
Thanks for great product - but it can be much more greater )

As Doodle's ScreenSaver is integrated into the desktop/WPS, it will be started whenever the Desktops lock-up is done. From memory, the WarpCenter had a button on it to do this. I don't use this and I seem to have deleted the default one, so I can't check.

The XWorkplace XCenter can have a button on it that will invoke lock-up. I found this out last week when I created another XCenter. It was populated with items that mirror most of the WarpCenter.

PyRxUtils has an example script that works wonderfully on my Thinkpad 600 with WSeB CP2PF to enable Suspend, hibernate, shut down and turn off, reboot and lockup.

It's a REXX DLL btw... the only problem I've had with it so far is "compiling" the REXX code to an EXE using RXCLS (and this is the first DLL I havent been able to do such with - it might be because it calls on a PM window to request a user choice of the above options... will look into it later).

As davidfor already mentioned, dssaver tries to replace the Desktop Lockup process. This means that if you select the Lockup Desktop menu item from the popup menu of the desktop, dssaver will start instantly. Also, if you have XWP installed, that has a CMD file which initiates desktop lockup, so in our case, starts dssaver's saving. This CMD file is usually put into XCenter, so XCenter will look and behave very much like the old WarpCenter. So pressing the Lockup button on XCenter will also start dssaver.
However, using the Lockup button of WarpCenter will not start dssaver, because (unfortunately) that uses a different method to initiate the Lockup, which goes around dssaver, so dssaver cannot catch that one.
So, to summarize: use the Lockup Desktop menu item of your Desktop's popup menu, or the Lockup button of your XCenter to start the saving.
