| I have an IBM Etherjet PCMCIA network card on/with an IBM Thinkpad 755C notebook computer running OS/2 Warp ver 3 with fixpak 26. I have the IAK (internet access kit) and the dialer/software from AT&TGlobalNetwork (formerly the IBMGlobalNetwork) installed on my computer. Do I need special software/drivers to access a lan (local area network)?

| If you got the card to work or at least get the PC-Card Manager to mount up the card you just have to install the Peer code and you're up and running. |

| Warp ver 3 has a 'plugnplay' feature to recognize the pcmcia card. It sees the Ehterjet card from IBM as a network card. I am looking for the tcpip stuff to install with Warp ver 3. There are some files at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/os2conect that I will be trying soon.

| What exactly do you mean with tcpip stuff? Won't the existing stack within Warp 3 do the jobb? What about upgrading the Warp3 stak to version 4.x? |

| I was told that I needed tcpip softwar/'stuff' to connect to a lan. I was told that I needed Warp Connect. I was told that the IAK (internet access kit) is for dialup only and that I needed ver 2.0 of tcpip for me to connect to a network (plus mpts files/programs). I was able to download some files but have not tried them yet. I downloaded cbenable.arj from the internet. OS/2 Warp-ed to the very end. |

Oh, yes you need to have the Warp Connect since of the network software included there. IAK works out but might not be the best dialer software available. I would go for the InJoy dialer. Isn't TCPIP 2.0 included in the Connect release? A while ago since I ran a system with Warp Connect. |

| I am looking for a copy of Warp Connect at eBay.com. I can not afford much and I am soon outbid. I was directed to the tcpip 2.0 files at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/os2conect , in the files section. I have installed them. When I get a cd drive (external) working with my notebook computer, I will install Warp ver 4 (future stuff). OS/2 Warp-ed to the very end. |

I tried installing cbenable but it just caused trap errors and it took me awhile to undo it (I finally used the installation diskettes to go to a command line to rem out the cbenable settings in the config.sys file). It boots to OS/2 okay now.
