To Chris W.My thanks for all your efforts on your CW-Multimedia Classes, and thanks for your continued work for the version that is included in eCS 1.x - my (Windoze running) friends are all amazed at it's functionality, ease of use, simple elegance and lack of resource usage. They're all baffled as to why Windoze, even with the most efficient MP3 playing programs, uses so much more resources (CPU and memory both) to play a single MP3, much less a "playlist". And thanks to your efforts and the phenomenal design of the WPS, they're all awestruck at the fact that I can move my MP3's anywhere I want, and then still open a Player/Playlist folder and hit "Play" at it actually plays it. (You know how much fun it is recreating a few hundred song playlist in WinAmp or MediaPlayer just because you decided to move your MP3 folders to a bigger drive in the same system? Well, maybe you dont - but I have to run WinKludgeXtraPathetic at work, and *I* do
).
It's a fine example of what OS/2, with the proper developers extending it, can do - and an amazing tool for both my personal use and to demonstrate that superior design to those who think Windoesnt actually has a usable, feature-rich GUI.
Again my thanks,
Robert
PS: Yes, we'd all love for you to release the updated CWMM classes for all our benefits - I have a couple eCS licenses, but still a number of my machines are (and will remain) WSeB machines [partly because of HPFS386 and SMP usage, partly because one (and soon hopefully more) are IBM Netfinity machines that have support in WSeB for their unique hardware configurations (such as System Management, Netfinity Manager, Remote notification and more).
PPS: And yes, I too, like others here, will respect your decision and still be grateful for what you have already given us, if you continue to decide not to update the versions of CWMM available for general download and use.
