| Good day to all of you once again! I was just wondering what everyone out there is using as a dialog editor or if anyone has a dialog editor that they would be willing to part with so that I could compare a few of them (that work under OS/2 or eCS). I am looking for copies of any dialog editors, including but not limited to Borland Resource Workshop, and Prominare Designer. Let me know what you have available. Shadallark

| Hey Shad, You'll want to check out OS2VOICE for a series on the free Dr Dialog. Just google "site:www.os2voice.org Dr Dialog". Good luck. |

Hi folks, yep - right. DrDialog comes with (or is rather based upon) its own dialog editor. It has some nice functions to align and group controls on a dialog and so on... although actually designed for the development environment that it is part of, it can be used to "only" create and save dialogs. As I don't know other dialog editors, I can't tell how on it compares to others... but hey - that's what shadallark is planning to do, right? Shad, if you decide to take a look at it, let me know if I can give you a quick start into how it works - I'ld be pleased to do so (I'm the author of the series of articles in case you didn't knew already). - So: Looking forward to your comparison! Greetings Thomas |

| Ah, the pressure is on now to actually do the comparison and write the article. Do not expect it soon, but expect it before too long. I now have the versions of Prominare and Dr. Dialog from Hobbes, and the Dialog Editor from the Resource kit (came with eCS), still looking for a few others if anyone has one that they like! | Hey Shad, I forgot to mention the joys of the System Editor. All .DLG files are resources that you compile with your program. This is a tedious process, about as much fun as writing Presentation Manager programs in the assembly language (my apologies to the experts in Mexico who do so ... search google). |
