| Will the foppy memory stick adapter work with OS/2? I have posted this at different discussion groups at http://groups.yahoo.com (all OS/2 or eCS related) and will return with any replies to this question. Perhaps it will work with the LS-120 drivers (from the OS/2 online device driver pak at http://www.ibm.com )with the floppy adapter? OS/2 Warp-ed to the very end. |

| Hallo in the meanwhile, i searched for Linux drivers, and here is what I found: A Text from June 2000 form Steves Digicams: NAPLES, Fla.-- SmartDisk Corporation announced that support for the Linux operating system (OS) has been integrated into its FlashPath for SmartMedia floppy disk adapter for digital appliances. This extends FlashPath's OS support to the growing base of consumer and professional users who are incorporating the open source interface into their networks and desktops both at home and at the office. The software is certified by Linuxcare, Inc., a leader in comprehensive consulting and professional services for the Linux community. The first release of Linux software for FlashPath is certified with Red Hat 6.2. For other versions of Linux, the kernel (the essential center of the Linux operating system) must be revision 2.2.n. FlashPath's data transfer speed is also greater than the transfer speeds of the serial port readers currently available to Linux users. Its portable size and lack of cables and connectors also make FlashPath the ideal flash memory reader for those consumers who use Linux both at home and at the office. FlashPath adapters are available for three of the leading flash memory types: Toshiba's SmartMedia, Sony's Memory Stick, and SanDisk's MultiMediaCard. FlashPath for Sony's Memory Stick is distributed on a worldwide basis by Sony Corporation under its own brand name called Memory Stick/Floppy Disk Adapter. FlashPath for SmartMedia Linux drivers are now available from SmartDisk's Web site at www.smartdisk.com. Additionally, Linux driver support for FlashPath for Sony's Memory Stick and SanDisk's MultiMediaCard is planned for later this year. Then I changend to Smartdisk.com: But there are no Linux-Drivers available on this Site. Is there anybody knowing more about that ? Achim |

No, nothing, but I thought, in the past, there were several Ports of Linux-drivers (Open source) to OS/2, so this might be a way. cu Achim |

| If you guys are referring to regular USB memory sticks, then you can buy those without a problem. What you MUST keep in mind is that every device of which the manufacturer states it is compatible with Linux without the need of installing drivers, and that uses the USB Mass Storage Device specs 1.1 will work on OS/2. You need at least version 1.3 of the usbstor.exe driver, and of course basic USB support. Kind regards, Jonas Buys. |
