I can get it to install, I think, but it won't boot to the gui, when it does a window titled "workplace shell" pops up that says:

The program pointed to by the SET RUNWORKPLACE= line in the CONFIG.SYS could not be started.

the virtual pc website said something about installing fixpack 15, but I have no idea how to do that, is that the problem?

PLEASE HELP!!!

There is a version of fixpak 15 that was packaged to install from your hard drive that is located over at hobbes. I used that when I updated my warp 4 drive long ago. You might give that a try.

Later:
On second thought scratch that idea - just realized you said warp 4 server - so this is probably the wrong fixpak you need although I am not sure about this.

kind regards,
arr

Is WS4 supported on VPC ? I thought it was only W4 code and higher (WS4 is W3 level code)

Erm, I posted s short note on how to install the basic WS4 package on modern hardware here a few days ago, once you have done the basic install you need to apply the driver fixcpack2 , then an OS fixpack, FP43 recommended but anything above 35 is OK, you will need Fixtool and prefarably one of the fixpack helper utils that reside on hobbes to do it from a hard disk (much, much quicker) then you can install the server portion, if the virtual drive that you install the server is larger than 2 gig you will need a utility from hobbes called spacehog since the lan server insaller incorrectly calculates spaces over 2.1 gig (that installer is over 10 years old BTW)

It seems to me that you making some faults...

First:
The latest FREE fixpack for OS/2 Warp v4 is FP15. When you have a SWC-subscription you can get FP17, which isn't free...

Second:
WarpServer 4 is known as WarpServer for e-business (WSEB) or under IBM internal name Aurora. WSEB have a CSD-base level of v4.50 and ACP2 is here the latest...

Third:
When your talking about FP 44, you're talking about the OS/2 Server v3.00. The latest FP for the "normal" OS/2 Warp v3 is FP43...

With kind regards,

Henk/2

No I HAVE WARP SERVER 4, 2 Copy's in fact, one Normal and one advanced it's Warp 3 with Lan Server 4 on top and the package is called Warp Server 4, Wseb was never called Warp Server 4, and if you are only counting free Fixpacks the last FP for V3 is 40, 43 ONLY WORKS with WS4.

P.S. Fixpack 44 exists, on the same basis as FP 17 for W4, eg it's a fee based service
