Netscape, the internet browser which jolted Microsoft into launching its charge into the internet and was subsequently bought by AOL, is now presumably doomed. For AOL, this is a pragmatic step that also reflects the company's new approach following the ousting of chairman and AOL founder Steve Case earlier this year. | I have asked this at other groups and some have said it is separate from Netscape; therefore, it is unaffected by it. I hope this is true. I have tried the latest Mozilla browser for OS/2 and it works quite well for me.

| That is good news - in case Mozilla is negatively affected ( at least toward OS/2-eCS) from the agreement between AOL and MS. Did they give any indication when it will come out/be released?

| If one goes to http://www.mozilla.org , one finds it is now run by the Mozilla Foundation. It might help the future of Mozilla as open source browser? Does anyone know more about it?

I, on the other hand, have not been successful in making OS/2 Mozilla browsers 1.4 (VACCP) nor 1.5a work under OS/2 Warp 4.0 SMP(hacked) nor on OS/2 Warp ver. 4 (actually based on Ver. 3) server with the SMP module. Nevertheless, Mozilla 1.3 works quite well with both versions. It appears that after this release, SMP support is broken. |
