| If the new Hobbes was available on a DVD, would there be interest in it? I am referring to the new Hobbes project by OS/2-eCS.Org. It is still being worked on. I believe the url is http://hobbes.os2ecs.org (or just go to http://www.os2ecs.org to find the link). The price of DVD drives have come down in price (especially since the newer DVD-R and DVD-RW drives have come out).

| I can't say for sure but I would be surprised if there were a lot of demand. Mensys has DVD's from http://hobbes.nmsu.edu where a portion of the proceeds is donated back to nmsu for hobbes currently. That doesn't mean the state of things couldn't change but I don't foresee much desire currently. Andy |

| Mensys has the old Hobbes. The dvd would contain the new Hobbes which has a different layout/system.

| I can only speak for myself, but I've found that for my use, the best Hobbes is going directly to Hobbes online. That way I know I'm getting the latest of whatever it is I'm looking for (one example, I downloaded the latest Danis506 driver just the other day). Furthermore a DVD does not interest me very much, simply because while there is a lot of stuff on Hobbes that I currently have installed on my system, there is also a lot of stuff on Hobbes that I have absolutely no need for. That isn't to say that it isn't useful for anyone else - everyone has different uses for their system. But at this point, I already have a hundred or so CD's and DVD's of software stacked around my house, I don't really need more. On the other hand, I can see how someone who didn't have a good internet connection would find a Hobbes DVD (such as the one offered by Mensys or others) useful. |

| Thank you for your opinion. You make a very good point.
