Subject  :  Boot stops at/after RSJ driver or during chkdsk(?)

I had installed OS/2 Warp ver 4 and thefixpak
(WarpUp with fixpak 15). It booted okay (for
awhile). Then I added the Crystal driver (Aopen
AW320) and the USB drivers (added the ubs lines
to config.sys). Now it will not go past the
RSJ cdr/cdrw drivers. When I press the reset
button, it does not go past the chkdsk program
(it starts and checks everything but stops before
it completes). I have a Maxtor hard drive. I used
the Maxtor software to check the hard drive and it
checks okay (according the software I downloaded
from their web site [ http://www.maxtor.com ]).
Can anyone have any advice and/or recommendation
as to how to get it to boot? It will be appreciated.

PS I have a Shuttle mainboard with 256 meg ram, an
AMD Athlon 700 mhz cpu with an SiS chipset AGP
video card.

PSS I have a pci modem (I tried the 'autodetect'
feature of the AT&T Global Network dialer for OS/2
and it could not detect it). The problem occured
shortly after the attempt to detect it. I clicked
on 'hardware detect' at startup and then tried
turning on the 'pnp aware os' feature in the bios
but neither seems to have helped (I could not get
it to even show on the screen for awhile until I
did a bios 'reset' [jumper on mainboard] and I was
able to install OS/2 - I installed again but using
the HPFS file system).

PSSS The hard drive is a 20 gigabyte drive with
boot manager installed (still works) with a C:
partition of 2 gigabyte and a D: partition with
the rest of the drive. I have tried chkdsk with
the '/f' feature. C: checks out okay but d: seems
to have problems that the chkdsk does not seem to
be able to handle.

I went back to 4th previous config.sys file and used it as the current one (I went to the prviously saved/backed up version of config.sys and made it current then tried it). I did this four times. The fourth time (actually the third time?) worked. My computer is up and running. I will print out the other config.sys files that I used and compare them to see the difference and try to find the problem.

I installed the RSJ software. Both it and the computer works great.

When booting up your system did you hit the ALT+F2 key when the small OS/2 Cursor in the left to of the screen showed up? Using ALT+F2 shows every single line during the boot so you will be 99% on what the system hangs on.

I actually doubt that it was the RSJ driver it self. But, what I have had problem with and still has once a while (very rare though) is that my CDR-unit some time hangs and I have to shutdown the system and power it off and to make sure pulling the power cord. Then the system boots up again as it should else it won't boot up or the CDR-unit won't show up.
