It looks as if your screensaver is not able to detect activity in a MDOS session, right?

best regards,

Yes, it only detects mouse and keyboard activity in PM.
But it does not start the screen saving in the background, only if the PM is in the foreground.

I couldn't find a way to detect mouse and keyboard activity system-wide. The only other way I've found would require to start an application in every OS/2 and DOS session, because keyboard and mouse activity can only be checked per fullscreen session.

Btw, if anybody knows a way to detect it system-wide, tell me!

I see. Here is what I experience here:

I run a fullscreen session DOS program (i.e. Framework VI) on OS/2, which runs in graphics mode at 800x600. Screensaver is configrured for 5 min of inactivity time. Now if I work for more than 5 min in this DOS box it suddenly appears that the mouse an keyboard focus get "stolen" from this session i.e. I cannot input in the session anymore. The screen stays as before i.e I still can see the program in the DOS box.

If I press ALT-ESC (the only key that still seems to react), I get back to PM. Switching back to my DOS app makes everything normal in it again.

After another 5 min, the same happens as described before.
The phenomenum definitely comes from the screensaver, as if I configure it to 8 or 10 min, it happens after 8 or 10 min.respectively.

Does this tell you anything? Should I try something different?

best regards,
Herwig

Yes, it seems to be a dssaver problem.

I'll try it at home as soon as I can, and we'll see.

Does it do the same with fullscreen OS/2 sessions?
What about windowed DOS sessions?

Does not occur in OS/2 fullscreen sessions (I think).

Will try for DOS-windows (have no DOS windowed app anymore that is used on a regular basis).

Thanks for listening,
Herwig
