Recently my eComstation partition started having pauses every few seconds, causing the system to hang for a split second then go back to normal, only to do it again a few seconds later. I have made no recent hardware or software changes, and I don't get this behaviour in my windows partition. Any ideas?

Hi ShyGuy, the problem is due to the fact that OS/2 writes to the INI files every few seconds, and does it (on purpose) WITHOUT caching. This does not normally pose a problem, but there is something that triggers the ill behavior that you're experiencing. And when it starts, it won't stop ![]() BTW, there is a fix: a simple patch that enables write-back caching on the INIs. It is safe and it works well. You can find it here: http://www.ca-arnold.de/download/newcalls104.zip Hope this helps...

Thanks for the tip, I've been using OS/2 since '96 and this is the first time I heard it. It worked like a charm, my system is running much better.
