Hello,

I have OS Warp V3 Red (French) on Floppy disks !
Disk 2 is corrupt. So I do not arrive to install it.
I have found a set of installation disks (but Englisch version).
How can i copare the files, and copy them?
XDFCOPY works for the whole disk.

How can I make an install CD with the Floppy's?
I can only make an image of the disks (with XDFcopy) I can not copy them to a structure as on a Warp4 CD?

... into trash !!!

You will not be happy with these !!

Get at least Warp V 3 Connect, or much better, Warp 4 i.e. from eBay !

PS:
The installation floppies 1 & 2 are, assuming correctly, 2.88MB formats
and therefor not readable with DOS ;-((

This is wrong. The first two or three floppies, the "installation disks" used to boot the system, are standard FAT disks with 1.44MB on them. They needed to be easily modifiable. The rest are in XDF format. This allowed IBM to put about 1.8MB on each floppy. But, it needed a driver. Look for BASEDEV=XDFLOPPY.FLT in a Warp3 or 4 CONFIG.SYS and comment it out as you don't normally need it after the installation is finished.

As to the original question, if possible, find a CD somewhere. As you have a Warp3 licence, I think it's reasonable to borrow a CD and use that for the install. If you need to copy the files off, using google to search for "xdf dos" found a reference to "XDF.COM" being in PC-DOS 7.0. If you have a Linux system available, there appears to be command called "mtools" to handle them there.

... regarding the installation diskettes !
I mismatched something here: Pls apologize my mistake !!

I am not really sure anymore but remembering correctly:
Warp Version 3 Connect was the first one providing a CD for installation !?

The elder ones are / were floppy installable only !?

However:
More important is the rest !
Starting at this very late time with Warp it is recommended to go along with Version 4 !!
This version came in Fall 1996 and is still the same CD-ROM but IBM provides newer
versions of installation diskettes (1 &2) as replacement the ones created from CD !
One can get these from the OS/2 Online Device Driver Websites !
