Hi,
I wonder if anyone has seen this before or have any suggestions as to what to do:

My T30 Wifi just suddenly decided to turn on only ONCE at boot up. If I turn the radio OFF with the XWLAN or with Wifistat, the radio gets "lost" with the error message "No LAN card found" and the Radio On/Off switches get grayed out. If I reboot, the radio is again found for that one time only.

Just to check that it's really hardware, I rebooted to WinXP and turning it on and off doesn't make the Wifi get lost.

So something is really screwed up. It's always possible that the card in my T30 is going flakey, but I'd really like to know this before sending it in.

Thanks for any info.

You might want to post this on the OS/2 Wireless Users mailing list. To subscribe, send an email to steward@2rosenthals.com with the following in the body of the message:

Meanwhile, I would be interested to know which card you have in the T30, which driver you're using, and whether you have anything in your PROTOCOL.INI file for the driver (power management, etc.). If possible, post your complete PROTOCOL.INI file.

I just called up IBM (Lenovo), it seems that my T30 is still in warranty (It has a 3year warranty). So they'll for OS/2 be overnighting a new Wifi card to me.

The T30 builtin WIFI card is an IBM Prism -- if this means anything. I'm using the IBM MiniPCI High Rate Wireless LAN Driver 1.0.

My protocol.ini file:

[PROT_MAN]

netbeui_nif = netbeui.nif
tcpbeui_nif = tcpbeui.nif
tcpip_nif = tcpip.nif

Ugghh... I just replaced my WIFI card from IBM, still no go. The WIFI is recognized at bootup and I can turn it on once. If I try to turn the radio off, the card become unrecognized. Any other ideas?
